Are you ready ?
“Yes, we prepared well. We had six weeks and a lot of friendlies. Like our competitors, we are at the same stage. Time for the championship.”
What goals this season?
“We will try to go as high as possible. This will be our formula this year, continuing to progress.”
Very few players know Ligue 1, is that embarrassing?
“We prepare in the same way. We have an average age of 23, certainly the least experienced group in Ligue 1 but for us it is not a handicap. What we want is to throw ourselves into battle.”
Are you a different, more ambitious graduate?
“We are promoted like the others. Auxerre has a great past, Ajaccio has had many seasons in Ligue 1. There is a lot of enthusiasm around the club but in terms of experience, we are like the others. We are in Ligue 1 with a lot of humility but also ambition. We don’t want to set limits. We will try to be in continuity, being aware that the adversity will not be the same.
Are you worried to see players leave very late in this transfer window?
“You have to see that with the president, I don’t think there is a deal with the players for them to leave before a specific date… When there are offers that are hard to refuse, like last year with Adli or Amian… We may find ourselves in this case. Or not. It’s also possible that everything goes well, that everyone stays and it will be perfect.”
