“The French will only have the lead in the Europeans for the last 15 days”. We have been hearing this phrase for months from candidates. The campaign therefore begins on Monday May 27 in earnest, they hope, because in recent days, there are countless executives, from the presidential majority to the rebels, who are sad to see that, on the ground, many French people believe that There are two rounds. No, the European elections are just one round, on June 9.

At Reconquête, some even have the impression of “rowing completely against the current”. Three debates between the heads of the lists on BFM, Cnews and France 2 should help to anchor the elections in people’s minds

For these last 15 days of the campaign, everyone has their strategy. The presidential majority launches the operation “15 days to convince” with lots of posters of candidate Valérie Hayer alongside the Head of State, and leaflets with the Prime Minister. Around sixty public meetings are still planned with ministers or running mates. The PS also pulls out all the stops with meetings every evening. The rebels, for their part, launched six caravans which will travel through 72 cities to ensure the promotion of Manon Aubry, from Brest to Bayonne, from Auxerre to Dreux or even from Mende to Marseille, when the communists are banking on a large door-to-door campaign. on June 5, with the head of the list Léon Deffontaines who will appear in person on the doorstep of the inhabitants of Seine-Saint-Denis. LR, for its part, continues to distribute some six million leaflets. François-Xavier Bellamy’s team is still thinking about “find something to stand out” in the very last days.

Large meetings will also multiply. Thursday May 30, Raphaël Glucksmann organizes one at the Zénith in Paris. Next weekend, there will be a traffic jam: on Saturday, the PS candidate will be in Marseille while Valérie Hayer will mobilize her troops in Aubervilliers. The next day, the ecologist Marie Toussaint will invest in Aubervilliers, while Jordan Bardella will be in a meeting in Paris with Marine Le Pen. The two RN leaders will, moreover, increase media appearances between now and June 9, convinced that this is the most effective way to mobilize.
