Created in 2021, the Au Parc des bois guinguette, backed by the restaurant of the same name located in the Gayeulles park in Rennes, reopened on Tuesday April 19, 2021. Until the end of September, the teams have planned concerts during the weekends and activities to attract mainly thirty-somethings.
Local artists and products
The guinguette is located opposite the body of water in the Parc des Gayeulles. Wooden tables, sheltered under red umbrellas, are installed. At 7 p.m., the garlands light up and the music turns on. “Either we put on the music, or we invite artists“, explains Antoine Aftim, co-manager of the guinguette.

“On Saturdays, we are more on electronic music. On Fridays, we are on world musiche continues. We want a cosmopolitan audience to come. We’re really open to all styles: pop, rock… We’re going to do West Indian evenings. We are really on a wide range of music.” 95% of artists are local.
With the guinguette, it is also possible to enjoy a burger or Breton beers. “We try to work as much as possible with local partners and suppliers.says Antoine Aftim. This is also what we want to convey.“To turn it all around, five people have been hired.

Jean, who has come to sip a beer after his day’s work, considers that the guinguette brings friendliness in the park of the Gayeulles. “Before, we settled down a bit wildhe says. Karine also saw the difference. She has lived in the neighborhood, a five-minute walk away, for more than ten years. “In the neighborhood there are bars and restaurants that do not offer this type of cultural eventsshe judges.
