Faces unmasked and mouths colored again: With the end of wearing masks indoors, lipstick is making a comeback in the beauty routine of French women. On the shelves of a store, the most popular products have changed with this end of the mask. From sober colors, customers have now moved on to more dazzling and vivid colors, as a symbol of rediscovered freedom.
AT mid-March, when restrictions against Covid-19 were lifted, lipstick sales jumped from 35% in just one week. The craze should continue according to Mathilde Lion, a beauty analyst. French women are therefore reconnecting with make-up after having abandoned it: at the height of the health crisis, one in two women had put aside their lipstick.
