With her seven billion views, she was already elected “most viewed video” on YouTube, surpassing the famous tube Despacito. But this record was not enough for the nursery rhyme Baby Shark which is since yesterday the most viewed video in the history of Youtube. With its 10 billion views on the clock, it far exceeds titles like Shape of You by Ed Sheeran, watched more than 5 billion times.
Composed by a South Korean father, the song is mainly aimed at children. Irritating by dint of listening for parents, the piece is a huge success with the little ones. It must be said that all the ingredients are there to seduce the youngest: heady rhythm, simple words mimicked by choreography.
And on closer examination, this formula seems to be paying off well on the platform. Indeed, several nursery rhymes are placed at the top of the ranking of the most viewed videos on YouTube. With over six billion views, the nursery rhyme Johny Johny Yes Daddy occupies for example the third place, just behind Despacito.
three rows down, Bath song, a children’s song that allows you to revise the different parts of the body, is about to reach five billion views.
And in tenth place, before the viral Psy’s Gangnam Style, Phonic Song with TWO words displays more than four billion views.
Even if the children are the most fond of it, the older ones do not deprive themselves of it. On TikTok, several challenges based on the tube Baby Shark had been created by users of the application. A springboard for this nursery rhyme that entertains young and old.
