Fear, anxiety, anger, surprise… On the occasion of the release of the film Vice-Versa 2, Brut asked the actors Adèle Exarchopoulos, Pierre Niney, Gilles Lellouche how they played emotions.

They voice the characters, who represent emotions, from the new animated film Vice-Versa 2. Brut spoke with Pierre Niney, Adèle Exarchopoulos and Gilles Lellouche about their relationships with emotions and the way in which they work on their roles through relation to these. If stage fright and fear are part of the job, Gilles Lellouche even adds that they are “engines”: “The more we advance, the more we want to go towards things that scare us. Staying in our comfort zone is the worst.”

Pierre Niney adds: “The film differentiates between fear, which pushes you to do things, and anxiety, which on the contrary paralyzes you and which is a big subject today, especially among young people. Anxiety is no fun at all because it completely blocks you. They’re two very different things and it’s interesting that the film talks about that.” For Pierre Niney too, fear is a driving force: “When there’s a good story or a good role, as stressful as it may seem, we want to go for it because in fact we want to tell a great story, to do something we’ve never done before . If we feel like there’s something cool to do, it would be sad to turn down challenges out of fear.”.
