The campaign for the European elections is accelerating. It’s the turn of the Republicans to officially launch their campaign with a first meeting on Saturday March 23 near Paris, at the Docks d’Aubervilliers where several thousand people are expected. The objective is to get the right-wing campaign off the ground, which is currently credited with 8% of voting intentions around its head of the list, François-Xavier Bellamy.

An opportunity to showcase the top trio of this right-wing list in the European elections, and in particular the last two recruits who are taking their first steps in politics: Céline Imart and Christophe Gomart. The first is a farmer and multi-graduate, experienced in interviews. She was vice-president of Young Farmers. The second is a former general who has advised Presidents of the Republic, also a regular in the media, particularly since the start of the war in Ukraine.

An “offensive” head of the list?

But for both, it will be the first political speech, in front of thousands of activists. Everyone will develop their favorite subject (and what they could bring to the Strasbourg Parliament), before François-Xavier Bellamy’s speech. The head of the list will talk about Europe but also French politics. He rants against Emmanuel Macron who “saturated” according to him, the media space on the Ukrainian issue.

But will he find the formula(s) that will hit the mark? A campaign strategist advises him to show up “offensive” on his adversaries as well as on his proposals. You will have to be “transgressive” if one wants “breaking the sound barrier”.
