The Postal Service has issued red and yellow service alerts for every province and territory.

“While recovery efforts are underway to make deliveries on December 24, where possible, they will depend on weather and road conditions,” Canada Post said in a statement issued Friday.

To facilitate the work of its staff, the company asks people to clear access to their homes by removing snow and ice from their walkways, stairs and driveways, as well as the area around their mailbox.

Regular delivery operations will resume on Wednesday, December 28.
