Winter is not over: gray weather, rain and snow expected during the weekend

Quebec will experience significant precipitation of rain and snow in the gray during the weekend while a vigorous low pressure system coming from Colorado will head straight for the province to remind us that winter is still here.

While waiting for the arrival of this depression, Quebecers will be able to enjoy generous sunshine this Friday under comfortable temperatures almost everywhere, with perhaps passing clouds in certain areas of the center and east of the province.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather forecast for most regions which will therefore have their share of rain or snow – or both at the same time – from Saturday to Monday.

The precipitation which will begin on Saturday first in the form of rain “should then turn into snow during the night from Saturday to Sunday and could persist until Monday,” the federal agency indicated in writing.

The central and eastern sectors of the province will be relatively spared on Saturday where the weather will be cloudy with some clearings in Eastern Quebec, before being affected by this depression on Sunday.

“Generally speaking, significant quantities of snow are possible in several places, particularly in mountainous terrain” in Quebec and Beauce, anticipated the federal agency which, however, forecasts a lot of rain with a few flakes in Estrie.

The same scenario awaits Eastern Quebec which will, however, have a few rays of sunshine alternating with cloudy fields on Saturday, before subsequently receiving its share of precipitation of rain and snow which will cause the mercury to drop.
