(Las Vegas) Head coach Rick Bowness said he’s optimistic that forward Nikolaj Ehlers will soon be given the green light by doctors to return to the Winnipeg Jets’ roster in their first-round series against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Ehlers practiced with the team, but sat out the first two games of the series at T-Mobile Arena due to an upper-body injury.
Ehlers has been sidelined since his injury, which occurred April 11 in a game against the Minnesota Wild.
The Jets earned a 5-1 win in Game 1 on Tuesday before suffering a 5-2 loss on Thursday.
Game 3 is Saturday afternoon at Canada Life Centre, the home of the Jets. Game 4 will follow on Monday night at the same venue.
The series returns to Nevada for Game 5 next Thursday.
The Golden Knights finished the season ranked first overall in the Western Conference.
