(Las Vegas) Winnipeg Jets forward Mark Scheifele won’t be in Game 5 against the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday.
Head coach Rick Bowness said Scheifele hasn’t recovered enough to return to the roster.
The Jets won the first game of the series, but lost the next three.
If they were to win on Thursday, Game 6 would be played at the Canada Life Center on Saturday.
Author of 42 goals this season, Scheifele left due to an upper-body injury on Monday.
As for striker Nikolaj Ehlers, he trained at T-Mobile Arena and his condition will be reassessed on Thursday.
“He’s done well in practice,” Bowness said. We put him in a jostling situation. We’ll see how he handles that. We’ll see how he feels on Thursday and then we’ll make a decision. »
Ehlers still hasn’t played in this series due to an upper body injury.
“I want to be on the ice to help the team and I haven’t been able to,” said Ehlers, who has 38 points in 45 games this season. It is clear that if I had to play, I would go all out. »
His teammate Nate Schmidt praised the Dane.
