Two days before the end of the regular phase of the Top 14, this Brive – Toulouse promises to be capital for qualification for our Rouge et noir champions of France and current 6th in the ranking. But also for the 12th Corréziens with a view to maintaining who will be able to count on their audience, more than 12,000 people expected on Saturday. The Amédée-Domenech stadium will be sold out.
The trip therefore promises to be complicated for the Stade, which has just lost its title of European champion in the semi-final against Leinster last weekend and which rarely manages to win in Corrèze. Toulouse hooker Peato Mauvaka knows it:
“It’s going to be hard. It’s hard to play at home. We have to win at Brive to be part of the six. It sucks to lose. We were close to the final. After that, that’s how it is It’s also good to switch to the Top 14. We also have something to look for in the Top 14 and to defend. We are big enough to question ourselves. We lacked details. That’s what caused us to lose this half. We will try to do better on Saturday.”
Another extension has been formalized at Stade Toulousain, that of Dorian Aldegheri. The 28-year-old right prop will be red and black for three more seasons. The prop from Blagnac has been at the club since 2007. He signed until 2027, two days after his scrum buddy was extended.
For this meeting in Brive on Saturday evening, Stade Toulousain recorded the timely returns of Richie Arnold, Charlie Faumuina, Alban Placines and Trevor Brennan.
