the long-awaited Rugby World Cup, the Hauts-de-France region is hosting a prestigious match on Saturday 19 November at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium in Lille: French Barbarians / Fiji.
A great rugby festival at the gates of Picardy
To close their 2022 season, the French Barbarians will face Fiji in Lille. The meeting will be held during the November international window. Barbarians – Fiji is the promise of a very high level match. The two teams will put on a spectacular show, a mix of Powerful, speed and of dexterity with the ball. While they will find Australia, Wales and Georgia in Pool B of France 2023, the Flying Fijians intend to mark the Rugby World Cup by creating a surprise.
Facing Fiji, Barbarian Rugby Club who is a closed club with handpicked players, within the French championship. Before each match or tour, a selection is made by the management committee. An official summons is then sent to call on each player to join the ranks of the Baa-baas. All players who have worn the jersey become members.
