“William Morris, Art in Everything” the new exhibition at “La Piscine”
On the occasion of an English autumn at La Piscine, William Morris and his fundamental contribution to the emergence of Arts & Crafts in England are honored.
Defending a social, political, ecological and artistic utopia, this artist left a lasting mark on the decorative arts by theorizing an Art in everything and an Art for everyone.
The exhibition presents almost a hundred works – paintings, drawings, furniture and textiles – from English public collections, in particular the Tate Britain and the Victoria and Albert Museum, but also from French public collections and particularly from the large collection kept at the Musée d’Orsay.
