Danielle Crévenat-Werner is a doctor of language sciences and passionate about dialectology. Since 2003, she has been writing the “Lexical strolls” section of Ami Hebdo where, each week, she opens a window on the origins and variants of our Alsatian vocabulary. She also presents every day “L’alsacien, mot à mot” on France Bleu Elsass.
This collection is the 17th in a series, the originality of which is to group together, in small volumes, these articles, often greatly enlarged, each linked to a theme and a period of the year. Their objective is to invite readers to rediscover, from a historical, geographical and cultural angle, the richness of their dialect heritage. Here, you will discover all the wealth of words used in Alsatian around soup: from the verb schlürpfeyou know, when you suck your soup from the spoon, down to the MaggikrüttMaggi grass, in French lovage.
