Wimbledon relaxes dress code to accommodate players

Wimbledon have relaxed their dress code which states that all pieces of clothing must be white to allow players to wear colored underwear to make them more comfortable during their period.

Wimbledon’s strict dress code is one of the main symbols of the Grand Slam tournament presented on the grass, but the All England Club said it had decided to update its regulations after discussions “with the WTA, the garment manufacturers and medical teams how best to support the women and girls participating in the tournament.

The update states that players will now be able to “wear dark/colored underwear as long as it doesn’t extend beyond the shorts or skirt.”

All other rules of the dress code remained the same, including the one that states that “participants must wear attire acceptable for tennis that is substantially all white.”
