She will face in the next round the Canadian Rebecca Marino (104e) or the Polish Katarzyna Kawa (132e and outcome of qualifications).

Jabeur reached the quarter-finals of the Major on grass last year, equaling his best result in a Grand Slam tournament obtained in Australia in 2020.

In Eastbourne, the Tunisian was chosen by Serena Williams as the doubles partner for the 40-year-old American’s return to the circuit almost a year after leaving with a thigh injury in the first round of Wimbledon 2021 .

Both players won their first two games but had to withdraw before the semi-final due to a right knee injury to Jabeur.
