William Leymergie boss too authoritarian? The host comes out of the silence!

If there are happy days on C8, at the helm for several years of William at noon, William Leymergie is mainly known to viewers for having been for more than thirty years at the head of Télématin on France 2. Years during which the host thus woke up the faithful of the second channel between information, chronicles and weather reports. But this change of niche seems to suit him. “In William at noon, we tackle new themes every day. Every show is different. And then doing nothing would bother me deeply!“, he explains to our colleagues from Télé Loisirs.

If William Leymergie has kept the confidence of his management for so long at France Televisions, some of his colleagues have on the other hand less good memories of their collaboration with the host. In 2007, Jean-Philippe Viaud had deposited a handrail in a Parisian police station, accusing William Leymergie of having tried to strangle him. The chronicler, after passing out, must have been placed on oxygen briefly. Following this violent altercation, France 2 then decided to lay off the presenter of Télématin for two weeks.

William Leymergie “assume“…

In front of the many testimonies or other rumors, William Leymergie remains straight in his boots. “I don’t think I was authoritarian, but I worked in professions where it was necessary to have authority. I like to master the smallest detail, but it’s normal to be an interventionist because I take responsibility for everything that goes on the air.“, indicates the host.

And as for a possible retirement, he is preparing for it but has not seen it yet. “I understood that this will stop one day. It’s quite far but it doesn’t scare me. However, there will still have to be some TV in my life. This will be behind the camera, for example in production. And that will allow me to run a little more or to cycle with Michel Drucker“, he says.
