France again recorded more than 20,000 cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours, Wednesday, November 17. A resumption of the epidemic which resurfaces the question of the massive use of teleworking, recommended in particular by the Scientific Council.

Is France heading again towards a generalized return of teleworking to stem the fifth wave of the Covid-19 epidemic? At least this is strongly recommended by the President of the Scientific Council, Jean-François Delfraissy, who declared on France Inter, Wednesday, November 17: “What do we have left in the toolbox that we haven’t used enough yet? Telecommuting is one of the points.” For the moment, however, the government does not intend to strengthen the health protocol in companies, as confirmed by Elisabeth Borne, in the “4 Vérités” of France 2.

Faced with the relaxation that has been observed in recent months, the Minister of Labor has asked the Labor Inspectorate to strengthen controls on the application of barrier gestures in companies. Since the end of the summer, the health protocol no longer provides for compulsory teleworking days. Currently, one in ten employees works in a company that imposes at least one day a week, against two in ten in the month of August.
