During a show in Atlanta on Friday night, just hours after the actor shared a lengthy video on YouTube in which he apologized to Chris Rock for slapping him at the Oscars, the comedian appeared to bring up the situation . According to CNN, the stand-up comedian said, “Everyone is trying to be a victim. If everyone is claiming victim status, then no one will be able to hear from the real victims. »

Chris Rock then called Will Smith “Suge Smith”, in reference to Suge Knight, a well-known rap figure currently in prison and known to engage in violent behavior. “Even I, after being slapped by Suge Smith, went to work the next day. I have children [à nourrir]. »

Later, Chris Rock said on stage, “Those who say words hurt have never been punched in the face. »

In his almost six-minute filmed speech, Will Smith said he was remorseful and had contacted Chris Rock privately, but that the comedian was not yet ready to speak.

Recall that at the Oscars gala last March, Chris Rock made a joke about the shaved head of Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith’s spouse, who suffers from alopecia. The film actor Men in Black and Independance Day then went on stage to slap the comedian, and insult him by returning to his seat, in front of a shocked crowd.
