After the success of the first season, the show Traitors is back for an unprecedented second edition. Launched on July 12, 2023 on M6, the program features 18 new candidates, namely the former Miss France Nathalie Marquay and his son Tom Pernautthe singer Natasha St-Pieractress Charlotte of Turckheimthe candidate of Koh Lanta Claude Dartoisthe former fencing champion Laura Flesselthe weather forecaster Gennifer Demeythe philosophical essayist Vincent Cespedesthe star ofDeal Concluded Caroline Margeridonthe cooker Norbert Tarayrethe game show contestant Kristofer, the sports influencer duo Tibo InShape And Juju Fitcats or the politician John Lassalle.
As during the first edition, these candidates are gathered in the same place and live together for the duration of the program. The concept of this strategy and manipulation game is simple: the 18 personalities compete in a sort of revisited werewolf game, to try to win the loot of 100 ingots, or 50,000 euros for the association of their choice. Among the players, some participants are “loyal” while the others are “traitors”, the goal being to unmask these famous “traitors” all in an atmosphere where the pressure is at its height and where the physical and psychological tests multiply.
Jean Lassalle accused of rape
While the show is in full swing and the second part was broadcast this Wednesday, July 19, 2023, one of the candidates finds himself at the heart of a rape case. This Friday July 21, 2023, BFMTV announces that Jean Lassalle is accused of rape and sexual assault by a 45-year-old woman. The facts allegedly took place in 2010, when the 68-year-old politician was campaigning for the regional elections. The complainant, who was pregnant at this time, claims to have been raped by Jean Lassalle when she had agreed to meet him in a hotel room in Bordeaux to ask him for help in solving a school problem concerning his daughter.

If Jean Lassalle could be heard by the police in the coming days, this would not impact the broadcast of the program Traitors since it was recorded last March at the Château de Val in Lanobre. It remains to be seen, however, whether M6 will decide to cut the politician off in the light of the sad affair in which he is now quoted. Paradoxically, Jean Lassalle is one of the public’s favorite candidates, tweets about his hilarious attitude and his endearing side multiplying with each broadcast.
Finally, we note that the launch of season 2, on July 12, 2023, attracted more than 1.8 million viewers. The show then won nearly 500,000 listeners since there were more than 2.3 million curious people gathered in front of the second meeting, this Wednesday, July 19.
