The widow of Christophe Doire, found beheaded in 1995 in Busset (Allier), has been indicted for “murder”, announced the public prosecutor of Cusset Eric Neveu, Thursday, June 30. She was remanded in custody.

“Serious and concordant clues highlight his participation in the murder of Christophe Doire”said the prosecutor who pointed to his “lack of credible explanations” and his “denial”. She had been placed in pre-trial detention on Tuesday June 28, 27 years after the discovery of the body discovered in a ditch by hunters on December 25, 1995, nine days after her disappearance. The 28-year-old factory worker had been identified through his identity papers and clothing.

The widow faces a 30-year prison sentence, announced the prosecutor, who adds that “the investigations must also continue to identify and arrest other protagonists”. A first judicial investigation had led to a dismissal in 2000, but the reopening of another investigation in 2020 and the exhumation of his body in 2022 made it possible to carry out new forensic analyzes.
