Widening of the A30 will start this year

Work to add one lane in each direction to Autoroute 30, between Brossard and Boucherville, will begin this year.

Passing through Longueuil, the Minister of Transport, François Bonnardel, made the announcement alongside several other ministers of the Legault government.

The project aims to add a third lane in each direction for public transit and carpooling, as well as the construction of access to the Brossard station of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM), located near the highways 10 and 30.

The addition of a new two-lane ramp, one of which will be reserved for public transit, should also facilitate access to Highway 30 from Highway 20, heading west.

“The decongestion plan that we are announcing for Highway 30 has been awaited for years by the population. The development of reserved lanes in each direction between Brossard and Boucherville and even at the interchange with Highway 20 will make life easier for public transit users,” said François Bonnardel, in a press release.

The complete project schedule and details on the new access to the REM station located near the interchange of highways 10 and 30 must be confirmed at a later date.

Daily flows on Autoroute 30, between Autoroutes 10 and 20, vary between 47,000 and 81,000 vehicles.
