“The public audiovisual sector must organize itself differently to fight against digital platforms. Nobody wants to go back to the time of the ORTF” says centrist senator Laurent Lafon, senator from Val-de-Marne and chairman of the Committee on Culture, Education and Communication, who hopes that the National Assembly will soon put his proposal on the agenda bill that the Senate passed earlier this week.
A text on public broadcasting and audiovisual sovereignty which provides for the creation, in January 2024, of a holding company which would oversee four public companies: Radio France, France Télévisions, France Médias Monde and INA.
