Bruno Mantovani is an emblematic figure of the current generation of French composers. In a decade, those who like to “generate movement and explore diversity” see their talent recognized and rewarded by the entire musical world. Its notoriety has long since crossed borders. In 2002, he entered a residency in Bologna as part of the “Villa Medici outside the walls” program of the AFAA. Two years later, he joined the French Academy in Rome, the famous and prestigious Villa Medici, then, the following year, was awarded the Caplet Prize. In 2009, he was elected Composer of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique. In 2010, the Paris Opera commissioned works from him. Thus are created the ballet Siddharta (2010), and the opera Akhmatova (2011). The same year, he became director of the CNSM in Paris and received the distinction of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters as well as the Claudio Abbado Prize from the Berlin Philharmonic. Internationally renowned composer, Bruno Mantovani regularly collaborates with soloists such as Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Renaud Capuçon, Jean-Guihen Queyras or Tabea Zimmermann, under the direction of conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Riccardo Chailly, Laurence Equilbey, Philippe Jordan , Francois Xavier-Roth.
