Thirty years of perfect love that gave birth to three wonderful children

While his parents Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg were married before meeting, they never took the plunge either. Was she influenced? “They never married. One day my mother said it was his fault, because he asked her to. She didn’t go” she said. A life choice that the actress, starring in We Leroys completely assumes: “There are children who grow up with the idea that marriage is the symbol of the absolute beauty of a couple. I didn’t have this example. With my parents, I had the chance to see a love passion : their love lasted a very long time before their separation. They were my role model” she added.
I love you… not anymore
While the couple met in 1991 on the set of the film In the eyes of the world, they chose never to go in front of the mayor. “TEverything can collapse overnight. We must understand the fragility of the couple. We are not safe, even if we think we have found our soul mate” added Charlotte Gainsbourg who seemed, however, to have changed her mind.
Guest of C to you on France 5 last January, Yvan Attal announced the happy news: “It came to her suddenly, she told me ‘I have something to tell you, I want us to get married” said the actor. Except that, on April 4, facing Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine, Charlotte Gainsbourg backpedaled, surprising everyone: “We’re not getting married anymore” justifying his words as follows: “I don’t want to get married anymore, but it is not for lack of love, on the contrary, it is proof of love”. A model which, for the moment, is very suitable for lovers whose flame does not die out more than 30 years after they met.
