The best remuneration of the livret A is far from compensating for inflation in France which reached + 2.9% in one year. The journalist Anne Bourse is on the set of 19/20 to give details.

Inflation is largely due to soaring energy prices, which represent more than 19% in one year. “Gas, electricity and fuel are experiencing a surge in their prices. The other sector where prices are rising is food and in particular fresh products with +3.6% in one year. Finally, for what we call the services, that is to say transport, insurance, health and rent, the increase is 2%”, indicates the journalist Anne Bourse on the set of 19/20.

Soaring energy prices and certain raw materials are causing inflation in France. “Let’s take the example of fruit and vegetables. The vagaries of the weather, periods of frost and drought have reduced production. And with demand still just as strong, prices are rising (…) nobody knows that it will be the duration and extent of inflation. According to some economists, this could only be the beginning”, continues the journalist.
