Faced with the health protocol that has just been lightened in schools, a question arises. Why don’t we use more tests salivary, easier to use?

Victor, 7 and a half, has been in contact for a few days. To go to school, he has no choice: he must be tester. But he finds it difficult to bear the inconvenience of a nasal swab. He admits to preferring tests salivary because “afterwards, we have a lot of pain in the nose“.”It is much less intrusive than the test antigenic“, continues his mother.

Use tests saliva has also been a request from the Federation of parents for months. “Children should be able to be testé with tests salivary, which does not hurt the nose, which does not hurt the eyes, because school cannot be the place of suffering“, proclaims Rodrigo Arenas, representative of this federation.

The method was however previously favored by the government. This one finally backtracked, for the sake of efficiency. Setting up a laboratory in the school and having permission from all the parents was proving to be complicated. The effectiveness of test saliva is also called into question. For now, the tests saliva are delivered by laboratories and only for children or people who cannot undergo a nasal sample.
