Why a variable geometry booster dose?

It is frustrating to learn that in Quebec, the booster dose for the COVID vaccine will not already be eligible for all people 65 years of age and over who have received their second dose for at least six months. The well known Dr Karl Weiss however recently insisted, especially during the show 24-60 on RDI, on the importance of the booster dose in building immunity in the elderly, based on evidence. It should be noted that the interval between the doses received varied according to the regions depending on the schedule of vaccine arrivals, so the interval is not necessarily the same for all people aged 65 and over across the province. .

Why not target a larger population of seniors by combining the influenza vaccination and the booster dose in one appointment starting in November, since such a double vaccination is no problem? Why limit the most adequate protection to residents of CHSLDs, RIs and RPAs on the pretext that these seniors live in the community? Many other seniors are more and more socially active, multiplying outings and activities while taking advantage of the relaxation of health instructions. In addition, is it not essential to take into account the risk to which unmasked seniors will theoretically be exposed to participating in family gatherings during the holiday season? It seems that protecting seniors is becoming less of a priority than it is for children and youth. Does the Ministry of Health want January to be more painful than it is currently in our hospitals?
