It’s the last day to reveal the team sports lists for the Paris Olympics. After the handball and football lists, it’s the turn of the French volleyball teams to reveal their composition, Monday, July 8. In the men’s category, Andrea Giani, very satisfied with the maturity of his group, has made some changes since the victory in the Nations League at the end of June.
Hopeful Joris Seddik (18 years old) will not be able to compete in his first Games in Paris. Stephen Boyer is also not on the list, unlike the majority of the Tokyo Olympic champions. We will therefore find the regulars of the selection Antoine Brizard, Nicolas Le Goff and Earvin Ngapeth. Timothée Carle, X factor of Euro in the summer of 2023, finds himself an alternate.
For the French women’s team, coach Emile Rousseaux has chosen a list including three receiver-attackers and two liberos. Around captain Héléna Cazaute, Juliette Gélin and Nina Stojiljkovic have been called up. The young 19-year-old attacker Maeva Schalk is a reserve.
The French women will open their Olympic tournament with a clash against Serbia on July 29, before facing China on August 1 and the United States, the reigning Olympic champions, on August 4. The men, the defending champions, will also begin with a match against Serbia on July 28. They will then play Canada on July 30 and Slovenia on August 2.
