Defeated by the surprising Georgian team on the third day of Group F (2-0), Portugal will have to do much better against Slovenia, Monday July 1 (9 p.m.), on the pitch at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt. Winners of their first two group matches, first against the Czech Republic (2-1), then against Turkey (3-0), Roberto Martinez’s men finished in first place in Group F and approach this match as favorites. Led by Cristiano Ronaldo, who is playing his sixth Euro, Portugal has the opportunity to meet Les Bleus again, and reach the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time since their title in 2016.

For its second participation in the Euro, Matjaz Kek’s Slovenia has already made history by qualifying for the first time in the round of 16 of the competition. Undefeated in the group stage, the Slovenian team has chained three draws in Group C. First against Denmark (1-1), then Serbia (1-1), and finally England (0-0).
