The government will introduce new aid with a 10% increase in the mileage allowance scale. 2.5 million French people will be affected by this measure.
Soaring fuel prices forced the government to find solutions to help the French. After the inflation check, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced, Tuesday, January 25, aid which will concern 2.5 million French people: a 10% increase in the mileage allowance scale is planned for people forced to go to work with their car and who pay taxes.
The tax boost divides. Despite this new aid, many French people rail against this response, which would be limited. “Not all retired and inactive people will receive it. It seems that this is really insufficient, especially in terms of the number of beneficiaries”, explains François Carlier, general delegate of the Consumption, Housing and Living Environment (CLCV) association. This boost should cost 400 million euros to the State.
