Thomas Matthew Crooks, the gunman involved in the attack on former US President Donald Trump, was identified by authorities on Sunday morning. The 20-year-old man was “shot in the head” and immediately “neutralized” by Secret Service agents at the scene after the shooting.

The FBI identified the man as a resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, about 35 miles south of Butler, where Donald Trump held his rally.
He graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022, according to a local media report.
According to a registration in the Pennsylvania voter database, Mr. Crooks was registered as a Republican, according to CNN.
A donor named Thomas Matthew Crooks allegedly gave $15 to a Democratic political action committee called the Progressive Turnout Project in January 2021, according to Federal Election Commission records.
Thomas Matthew Crooks’ father, contacted by CNN, said he was trying to understand “what’s going on” but would “wait to speak to law enforcement” before talking about his son.
