Journalists threatened with prison
The campaign was marred by scandals on both sides, Democratic and conservative. And Yoon Seok-youl’s wife since 2012, who is a businesswoman, in the city, has made headlines more than once. An affair which did not cost her husband the victory, who has therefore been in office since May 2022. For her part, since the election of her husband, Kim Keon-hee has asked that she be mentioned as the wife of the president, not the first lady.
A strengthened relationship
This is not the first time that the president has visited London. He has already met King Charles III and Queen Camilla last year, on the eve of the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. Received at Buckingham Palace, he then said to the king: “I will never forget the Queen, who always dedicated herself to defending freedom and peace. The people of the Republic of Korea also share your grief“.
