The candidacy for the post of Prime Minister of Huguette Bello, president of the regional council of La Réunion, proposed by the PCF, is now supported by the Insoumis. Portrait.
A face and a name: Huguette Bello to join Matignon. This 73-year-old politician, president of the regional council of La Réunion, was proposed by the Communist Party to be the candidate of the New Popular Front for the post of Prime Minister. According to Fabien Roussel, secretary of the PCF, “She is respected by all sides of the National Assembly. She presides over a region where the difficulties are very great, so she has the strength and dignity to find answers.”
Huguette Bello was a member of parliament for La Réunion for 23 years. While most of her political career was spent in the ranks of the communists, she has recently become closer to the Insoumis, particularly during the recent European elections. Her candidacy is credible according to Jean-Luc Mélenchon. “There is a proposal on the table that would honor everyone”he said. The Socialist Party has not yet made a statement. Support could be made official on Saturday, July 13, at the party’s national council.
