who is Elise Leboucher, elected Nupes MP for the 4th constituency?

He is one of the new faces who will represent Sarthe in the National Assembly. Elise Leboucher, support of Jean-Luc Mélenchon in the presidential election, was elected this Sunday deputy for the 4th district of Sarthe under the Nupes banner. Educator specializing in child psychiatry at the Public Mental Health Establishment (EPSM) of Sarthe in Allonnes, this 39-year-old Mancelle was leading her first campaign in her own name. She won with 88 votes ahead of Raymond de Malherbe, head of the National Rally of Sarthe and regional councilor.

Invested in extremis by Nupes

Originally from Mayenne, Elise Leboucher has lived in Le Mans for 20 years. This trade unionist mobilized on health issues was a candidate in the municipal elections of Le Mans in 2020, in third position on the left list Le Mans en Commun. She was then the substitute for Elen Debost (Uni.es) at the departmental 2021 in the canton of Le Mans 7 – Allonnes. In November 2021, she supported Sandrine Rousseau in the environmentalist primary. It was after the defeat of the latter that Elise Leboucher joined the Union Populaire and campaigned for the presidential campaign of Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

The investiture of Elise Leboucher by the NUPES was played at the last moment : it is indeed the outgoing socialist deputy Sylvie Tolmont who was initially designated in this 4th constituency of the Sarthe reserved for the PS within the framework of the national agreement between the components of the left-wing coalition. The substitute for Stéphane Le Foll, who presented himself for the first time as holder and who maintained his candidacy without agreement, did not manage to pass the first round, despite a score of 15.47%.
