“Who can prohibit a political movement from campaigning?”took offense to the leader of the National Rally deputies Marine Le Pen on Monday June 3, after the publication of an RN poster intended for the gendarmes and the military a few days before the European elections.

“We have not violated any rules, any laws”reacted Marine Le Pen. “We are addressing the gendarmes, the police and we will continue to do so”, she continued. On X, General Christian Rodriguez calls out to the head of the RN list: “You seem to be unaware that military status prohibits this type of message”he assured, before being himself the target of criticism from the president of the RN. “A tweet formulated in an unacceptable tone”castigated the boss of RN deputies. “Whether the chief of gendarmes considers that there is a violation of the duty of confidentiality is his analysis, we do not share it”she added. “The tone he used, the aggressiveness, the violence of this tweet against us is in fact in itself perhaps a breach of the duty of reserve”she continued.

Marine Le Pen argued that the RN “is aimed at all professions in the country”. “We have dozens of visuals, with dozens of professions”she stressed, adding that “the police are not sub-citizens”. “I made exactly the same type of visual for the presidential election and it did not attract any criticism”she recalled.
