“The biggest threat to democracy is stupid people”said Donald Trump. People are stupid each in their own way, but they have things in common, explained columnist Michel Mompontet. He notably took the example of a supporter of Donald Trump, who declared: “I think with the storm coming, the government has made some decisions. They’re using things to amplify hurricanes.”
The “stupid people” have no doubt about the truth of the things they say. They live in a world of certainty, convinced that the lies of the powerful work with everyone except them. Their ideas come from the “conspiracy factory”. And Michel Mompontet concludes: “(The supid people) are looking for a masked avenger. It’s a safe bet that they found him, and his first name is Donald (Trump)”.
