Who are the six women pursuing Gilbert Rozon?

  • Sophie Moreau is the sixth woman to have filed a civil lawsuit against Gilbert Rozon.
  • These lawsuits come when the Court of Appeal rejected last January a collective action of the collective “Les Courageuses”.
  • Gilbert Rozon was acquitted in December 2020, following a lawsuit brought by Annick Charette for indecent assault and rape.

Sophie Moreau claims to have been the victim of harassment and sexual assault between 1988 and 1989. She was then 15 years old and worked as receptionist for Just for Laughs.

Sophie Moreau was part of the collective “Les Courageuses”, which had brought – without success – a collective action against Rozon. She broke the silence during the #moiaussi movement, in October 2017.

Anne-Marie Charette

Researcher Anne-Marie Charette filed a civil lawsuit last October. She claims $ 1.3 million from Gilbert Rozon. The latter allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted her in 1987, when she was communications coordinator for a group of comedians.

She maintains that Gilbert Rozon would have made comments “inappropriate and unpleasant”. At one point, he was asked to go and join Mr. Rozon in a hotel room to bring him files. It was at this time that the victim was allegedly assaulted. She was fired shortly after.
