Who will now guide Les Bleues after the departure of Corinne Deacon? The coach of the Bleues, targeted by the revolt of some of the players, was dismissed from office on Thursday March 9 by the interim president of the French Football Federation Philippe Diallo. While the Women’s Football World Cup starts in four months, on July 23 against Jamaica for the France team, the Blues therefore find themselves without a coach or coach.
Among the candidates, one name comes up insistently: that of Gérard Prêcheur. Former Lyon coach, winner of two Champions Leagues, he is currently working at PSG, under contract until next June, plus an optional year. Other names have been mentioned in the press and confirmed to franceinfo, Eric Blahic, former assistant coach of Les Bleues under Deacon and appreciated by the players, Patrice Lair, former coach of Lyon and Paris, Sonia Bompastor, in charge of OL female, or even Hervé Renard, the current coach of Saudi Arabia, and winner of Argentina at the last World Cup.

“Beyond people, the Federation’s ambition today is to bring the French team up to the standard of the best international teams”, explains the president of the federation Philippe Diallo. In addition to the person who will lead the selection, the FFF also wishes to strengthen the staff and “modify the organization around the team to ensure that the lack of dialogue that has been observed does not happen again in the future”.
The lucky winner will have two preparation matches next April before the announcement of the list for the World Cup which will take place from July 20 to August 20 in Australia and New Zealand.
