White Dog will open the Cinemania festival





The new feature film by Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette, white dogwill open on 28e Cinemania French-language film festival on November 2.

The director of The Goddess of Fireflies this time brings the famous novel by Romain Gary to the screen by co-writing the screenplay for this adaptation with Valérie Beaugrand-Champagne.

white dog depicts the writer himself, as the United States explodes under racial tensions after the assassination of Martin Luther King. Romain Gary then welcomes into his home, with his lover Jean Seberg, a civil rights activist, an abandoned dog, trained to jump at the mouths of African-Americans. Denis Menochet (Up to the hilt, Thanks to God) slips into the skin of the French author. He is seconded by Kacey Rohl (White Lie), K. C. Collins (Clarice) and the young Laurent Lemaire (Epidemic).

Maryse Legagneur and Will Prosper acted as consultants throughout the creative and artistic process. Produced by Nicole Robert for Go Films, white dog hits theaters in Quebec on November 9.
