After his victory in the 2022 presidential election, how does Emmanuel Macron intend to compose his new government? France Télévisions takes stock.
Two days after his re-election as head of the country, Emmanuel Macron is now thinking about the composition of his new government. The President of the Republic would like a rather tight casting: 10 to 15 ministers maximum, against 42 currently. This government will nevertheless be completed after the legislative elections scheduled for next June.
Emmanuel Macron promises change. Julien Denormandie, the current Minister of Agriculture, is one of the favorites to access Matignon. Richard Ferrand, the president of the National Assembly, is also approached, as is the Minister of Labor Élisabeth Borne. To give guarantees to the left, the president could appoint the former PS mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoë, or the former boss of the CFDT, Nicole Notat. In the center-right, two names are also mentioned: Christine Lagarde and Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet.
