Next year, parental controls will be installed by default on all French devices allowing access to the Internet according to a decree by Thursday July 13 in the Official Journal. Smartphones, computers, tablets, connected objects or even game consoles… All will be affected by this new bill from Bas-Rhin deputy Bruno Studer (Renaissance).

A bill to regulate the practices of the youngest
Supported by the Government and adopted in March 2022, this law will require manufacturers to install a parental control device on devices sold on the French market. They must also explain the features offered by the device in the form of an explanatory note.
The goal ? Protect children against shocking, violent or pornographic content broadcast on the Internet, but also to control screen time or even facilitate the use of parental control tools, still too little known by some parents.
Pending the effective implementation of the blocking of pornographic sites for minors, parental control will be a major tool to control and filter massively against undesirable content. A big step for the protection of minors on the Internet!
