On Saturday afternoon, a violent storm hit the Roberval area, causing damage. The road between Roberval and Sainte-Hedwidge had to be closed (the municipality’s website announced the closure, but not the cause), trees fell on the roadway. A tree even fell on a van; more of a scare than harm. Fortunately! Lightning even struck a tree at the Jardin des Ursulines in the heart of downtown Roberval. But nowhere in the media are the events reported. No wonder, newspapers are closed, the TV station too, the radios in summer mode (so minimal coverage on weekends).
On Sunday, at 6 p.m., TVA reported similar events in Charlevoix, but nothing about Lac-Saint-Jean. No one is talking about it, just word of mouth (Facebook) where everyone is posting their photos, their suppositions… inflating, shrinking the event, extrapolating on it, but no media coverage to reassure, reestablish the facts or just inform. Well no, we are not important enough. We are in the region!
The lack of media coverage is felt, I noticed it briefly during the International Crossing of Lake Saint-Jean, but this is too much! Will it take another deluge for the media to deign to take an interest in our region?
