“When we defend national preference, we have no place in the Pantheon”criticizes at the microphone of France Inter Georges Duffau-Epstein, son of Joseph Epstein, who is one of the 23 companions honored on Wednesday February 21 alongside Missak Manouchian, who will enter the Pantheon during a ceremony in which the National Rally will participate .

The communist resistance fighter of Armenian origin and 23 of his comrades in arms will enter the Pantheon this Wednesday evening, 80 years after their death. If the bodies of the Manouchian couple will rest in the Pantheon, the names of 22 members of the Red Poster and that of Joseph Epstein, a fellow Resistance member, will be engraved in gold letters at the entrance to the vault. Joseph Epstein was leader of the Francs-tireurs partisans in the Paris region, he was arrested the same day as Missak Manouchian, and shot in 1944.

Despite the disapproval of the committee supporting the pantheonization of Missak Manouchian, Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella will be present at the ceremony this Wednesday. This presence is strongly criticized by Georges Duffau-Epstein. He recognizes that Marine Le Pen “is a member of parliament” and therefore “legitimacy” since “people voted for her”. But Joseph Epstein’s son says the former presidential candidate should have “the decency of not accepting this invitation”. He maintains that “when we defend national preference, when we defend the right of blood and not the right of soil, when we propose to expel all immigrants who do not have papers, we have nothing to do at the Pantheon.

Georges Duffau-Epstein recalls that Missak “Manouchian was stateless, therefore deportable if we listen to Marine Le Pen”. He warns that “if unfortunately” during this ceremony he meets the deputy of the National Rally, he will “everything to avoid it”accusing him of being “a sham”.
