In Cherbourg, in La Manche, unemployed people participate in a short film. This collective project, carried by an association, allows them to regain self-confidence and to resume the path of employment.
The cinema invites itself on the shelves of a supermarket in Cherbourg, in Manche. Trainees in professional reintegration are making a short film for the first time. It is about portraying a cashier victim of age discrimination.
A problem that Daniel, a former construction employee, knows well. Unemployed for more than two years, he’s having a hard time getting back to work.
Resuming training like this allows us to re-motivate ourselves, to realize that we still have something to give for the 10-15 years that we have yet to do.

To help them in this process, the audiovisual association BiTiVOD, a form of Norman solidarity Netflix. It is a platform, launched in Cherbourg two years ago, which multiplies the projects. Thus, since September 2021, these apprentice filmmakers have been working on writing the script and continuing to create until the preparation of the film.
This collective project gives them the opportunity to regain self-confidence. To surpass oneself to resume the path of employment thanks to the cinema. This is the bet that the Infrep training center is trying for the first time. An initiative that is bearing fruit since a dozen apprentices have since won a contract.
Once completed, the film will be shown at the Grand Rex in Paris next May, as part of the “I film the job that I like” competition. The President of the jury will be the famous actor and director Dany Boon.
