In many zoos, certain animals have become real stars. This is particularly the case of the two baby pandas of the ZooParc from Beauval (Loir-et-Cher).
They attract visitors thanks in particular to their creativity: a woman traveled from Dijon (Côte-d’Or) to see an Orangutan painting at the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. “We come every two, three months“, she confides. These star animals have become ambassadors of their establishment, like Paul the octopus who, in his German aquarium, predicted the results of the matches of the football world cup.
At ZooParc from Beauval (Loir-et-Cher), visitors hastened to come and see the two baby pandas, aged four months. “These are animals that we have seen growing up on social networks, and it was a real joy for us to be able to see them in real life.“, confides a man questioned on the spot. Since 2012, these animals loaned for ten years by China, with a transfer estimated at 750,000 euros per year, have enabled the park to retain a new audience.”Thanks to these pandas, we went from 600,000 to one million visitors, then 1.6 million then more, which allowed us to invest much more in the park.“, underlines Rodolphe Delors, director of ZooParc of Beauval.
