In the midst of the energy crisis, some companies are looking for ways to reduce their electricity bills. Report from a window manufacturer in Champigny-sur-Marne, who started work before the arrival of winter.
A brand new roof, perfectly insulated. Last spring, Catherine Guerniou, the boss of La Fenêtrière, in Champigny-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne), wanted to save electricity. She first carried out an energy diagnosis. “We understood how our workshop worked, and what were the points on which we could play”, she says. She began by renovating the roof, insulating more effectively.
She has already saved 200 euros per month on air conditioning during the summer. With, as a bonus, a marked improvement in working conditions for the 12 workers. “All the heat coming down there was hellish”, remembers Fabrice Vatié, carpenter. Catherine Guerniou invested 230,000 euros for the roof and pneumatic machines, which consume less electricity. The company now wishes to go further, in particular with “thermal insulation from the outside”of the “water harvesting” or revegetation. It will invest a total of between 400,000 and 450,000 euros, and has received no state aid.
