A baby lynx was seen in La-Motte-Servolex (Savoie), possibly in search of food.
In La-Motte-Servolex (Savoie), the young lynx calmly approaches the swimming pool, then the French window. Experts believe he is around four months old. He would weigh around 3.5 kilos and that is worrying, because he should weigh more at this age. He may be looking for food. In any case, it was a nice surprise for Christine, who filmed everything. “I said to my husband: ‘Look, look, there’s a tiger or I don’t know what.’ He said to me: ‘No, it’s a lynx'”confides Christine Caille.
“It reappeared from the 80s”
The animal leaves after a few minutes. On the ground, the traces of its passage are still visible. Around Lake Aiguebelette, at least two females and one male are regularly observed by guards. This territory is a corridor for this wild, fearful and protected animal. “It reappeared from the 1980s. Mainly in the Jura. Its population tends to grow: there are an estimated 150 lynx present in France and it inevitably disperses”indicates Martin Daviot, technical ranger at the Lac d’Aiguebelette nature reserve.
