Since the dissolution of the National Assembly, farmers have been worried because the law they had negotiated with the government has been suspended. What are they demanding today? Report in the Creuse.
The agricultural department of Creuse mainly voted for Emmanuel Macron in 2022. But residents chose a deputy from La France insoumise, then from the National Rally in the European elections on June 9. At the heart of the campaign and the votes of the Creuseois, in particular, is agriculture and its future. Their income is particularly one of their concerns. Three farmers claim to be attracted by the RN, like Ludovic Patard, who believes that Jordan Bardella has “more will than others to defend” agriculture. However, the RN did not vote for the agricultural law.
At the livestock market, farmers from all the surrounding departments are present. Faced with the programs of the different parties, many no longer know who or what to believe. Cattle are selling rather better than three years ago, during the previous legislative elections. From now on, they plan to vote for the MP they know best. “We vote for a person, we do not vote for a party”, challenges a farmer. In a goat farm, on the contrary, breeders are more worried about global warming. They claim to have voted for the Ecologists in the European elections, or to have abstained.
